Sounds like nobody is DLing your freebies... I get enough traffic that I have to rely on another service to deliver my freebies or my hosting co would shut me down. Annoying to deal w/ 4shared/box/dropbox/mediafire/etc. if you're a customer/freebie hunter? Yes. But if you want free goods, maybe it's a trade-off the customers/freebie hunters should be willing to make. Just FYI .. There are hosts that offer unlimited bandwidth ... I have bluehost and they do and they are not that expensive but you have to pay at least a year upfront

Ohana has been designing (if you can call it that) and selling since October of 09. Farynar's Wings has been around more than a year now, as has the Urban Fairy. Too bad they start off cheating.

It's not about complaining. I won't DL a freebie from 4shared because it doesn't work for me. I suspect it isn't compatible with one of my add-ons, but I'm not going to go through the trouble to disable each one to figure out which one is the culprit. I'm not complaining though, I don't need freebies that badly. But if you're a designer, you've missed out on introducing your products to a potential new customer because you use 4shared. It's your business, I'd think you would be willing to make that minimal effort to widen your customer base.
Damsel Designs has been around longer than I have (18 months). Guess she partnered up with someone - or just doesn't care and didn't read the rules. She used to be at Digi Scrapbook Mania.
But if you're a designer, you've missed out on introducing your products to a potential new customer because you use 4shared. It's your business, I'd think you would be willing to make that minimal effort to widen your customer base.

I'm going by what they tell me. Digital Harmony sent me two store links, both have the earliest product added as April 2011. Bonnie's store doesn't give date product added, but she said it's been less than a year. Remember, they do not have to be in a store to compete, so even though they were in last year, doesn't mean they were in a store. Ohana said she's only been selling a few months and her store doesn't give an add date either. Farynar's wings store says 4/24. I had Urban Fairy coded wrong in my gmail, and I have moved her to the correct category.

Um. Regarding your list of "actually good" and "decent" - there are a couple I would have switched...altho your taste is obviously apparent - what in the hell is Mommyish doing on either list? that is horrible!
to me, the ones that stuck with the neutrals for the backgrounds with pink and orange for pops work. so many of these look "retro", as in 70's - - there are a few basic packs I saw that would be great for everyday type scrapping, but thats about it. Most of them are pure garbage.

If these bearer of tales have info regarding your DSA Challenge, they should email you privately and you SHOULD be responding privately.

I think Sara just wanted to stop any issues as soon as possible and since this is where the issues were raised, it seems fine to me that they were addressed here. Better to quelsh (sp?) the issue now before people spend a week bitching about it and causing issues throughout the contest. I'm personally glad they checked - not that they even found any wrong-doers, but better to know for sure.

I am just an average scrapper, not a designer. I am not active on any CT's, although I have been in the past. I am not active in any "scrapbook community", I don't post on the message boards, and I don't post my layouts online anymore. I read the Digi boards for entertainment, and am constantly amazed at what people share on the internet. I freely admit to reading the scrapbook smack blogs, it is a guilty pleasure.

I don't really go for "fantasy" type stuff. And as far as Mommyish goes? I unzipped it and it looked pretty good.
What I would love to see is a decent color scheme. imo. I wouldn't use anything (no matter how good or bad) just because the colors are terrible.
