This kit is totally unique. I sat here for hours with my nose pressed up against the screen, converting cross stitch patterns I found online to patterns I could use for scrapbook papers and elements. It wasn't easy, but I think it was worth it! I LOVE this kit!

I don't know, is it? If the patterns are in the public domain, then no, it isn't. If they are copyrighted patterns, then yes, it is an infringement.
I was contemplating going to the digi scrap thing with SO, but I notice that most of the people going are SO staff. Most of my other friends are starting to back out. I also notice that when they do give-aways, that only a few people enter them. I'm starting to think that it's not all that good of an event. Thoughts?
I am one of the 60 or so people who went last year and I wouldn't miss it this year. I didn't know everyone but did meet the majority of the people I didn't already know and don't regret anything about the trip. Culturally, artistically and socially a great experience for me.
I went last year and it wasn't that big of a deal. If you were part of the "in" crown, you probably had fun. I didn't know many people and I felt like a fly on the wall most of the time. It was obvious who was "in" with who, and yeah, it was mostly staff and CT's. It was weird how people ended up being kind of the opposite of what I expected. When we hit the strip and partied, I ended up wishing I had stayed back in my room. It was okay to try once, but I wouldn't waste my money on it again. Just a personal opinion, but that's because I'm too shy to put myself out there. Someone who is outgoing might have more fun. I wouldn't discourage others from going because this was simply my own experience. It might be a great time for others.
People usually gravitate to those they know so I suppose it's not that unheard of that some of the members might have seemed a bit cliquey. Still, whoever or whatever store was in charge of this should have done their best to make sure that everyone was feeling included. Personally, I'd never spend that kind of money to go unless I knew someone or a few someones really well.
I am just an average scrapper, not a designer. I am not active on any CT's, although I have been in the past. I am not active in any "scrapbook community", I don't post on the message boards, and I don't post my layouts online anymore. I read the Digi boards for entertainment, and am constantly amazed at what people share on the internet. I freely admit to reading the scrapbook smack blogs, it is a guilty pleasure.

What's your problem?
Never had a hot flash?
And someone doesn't like your butt?

I checked her kit and the patterns she used are traditional patterns, well within the public domain. No infringement there.
I'm waiting for the first space of 2012 on this blog. :)
To do what? Bestow your infinite wisdom upon us?
There's always one *rolls eyes*

Wouldn't mind going but way too expensive for me. Not to mention, I don't hang out at SO so I probably wouldn't know anyone.

I wish I could go - I think it sounds amazing! But Vegas is a long way away! So it's not an option!
I would love to go, but I can't afford the trip to Vegas.
