Could we have new space please?

like how everyone is always willing to publicly flog (at DST) the "lesser designers" like this kermit idiot, as you suggest we do... but nobody's done the same to SMJ (all the while complaining here that her case is "unresolved"). such a hypocritical lot, we are.
--------

Link me up to more than two instances of this so called public flogging. If it's in the DCR, it doesn't count, that's not public.

I like the color palette, it's one of the nicer ones so far, but agreed, it's not really suited to the theme of the monkeys.

Anonymous said...

Those colors are ugly for any kit. They are just mucky and dark and heavy.
-----

No they aren't. They aren't mucky and dark at all. As someone pointed out, they'd be perfect for a fall theme.

No they are ugly and dark. Those basic colors are good for a fall theme. But those exact tones are ugly together.

Oh sweet baby jesus. I just watched the slideshow and didn't even see ONE freebie I would waste my time downloading. NOT ONE. Terrible.

Oh, so the DCR isn't public? Please. Everyone and their sister's barber is a member of the DCR nowadays. Nobody is paying attention to whether the members are actually designers. And if it were truly "private," we wouldn't need this blog... (yes, I know, I'm being sarcastic. we will always need a place to post anonymous mean shit)

I found a few that aren't in the slideshow (or else I missed them) that are actually good. But still, having to look thru 100 blogs to find just a few that are good isn't worth it when I don't really like the colors enough anyway. So I quit.

So, right, no public flogging then. As I thought.

Blog trains actually take a lot of time. To download, unzip, refile, rename files if the designer didn't put their name in the file, tag the papers and elements and finally move the files to their ultimate folder.

Sometimes it is just not worth it.

Anonymous said...

I think I may have nightmares from seeing Barf's contribution to the blog train.

---------

Grow up.

Anonymous said...

Maybe I am in the minority but I am not a member of the DCR so I have no knowledge of what gets discussed there.

Anonymous said...

You seriously aren't missing anything.

Anonymous said...

^^^
Agreed. You get a lot more info from this blog.

Anonymous said...

I haven't seen any DCR flogging lately? Maybe I am not paying enough attention.

I actually think SMJ got a lot more flogging right here on this blog than that kermit designer. Lost of people said they had lost faith in her and wouldn't be buying from her again. I don't see the double standard you see.

Anonymous said...

^^^^

Agreed.

Great shop, don't you think?

For me either. That's why I spend my time making products that sell for actual money instead of wasting precious time making freebies for blog trains.
I give freebies. On my terms and not buried in a mile long train.

Anonymous said...

Well I think the blog train offers me an opportunity to attract new customers or potential ones. I make quality items but I'm fairly new, so people need to download my minis and see for themselves what I offer.

On the last blog train, I got over 1500 downloads. Obviously not everyone became a customer, lol. But it's good exposure.

Agreed. It's beneficial sometimes. But probably not for 100 designers...

How has that shop not been shut down, or at least those products that are violating copyright taken out? Unbelievable.

Etsy might be like eBay and only remove it if the actual copyright owner complains. They don't accept tatle tails. Disney doesn't care enough to take action.

For heavens sake SD.... grow up already. Do you really think that your store owner would terminate you if she didn't have valid reasons for doing so? I'm certain it wasn't about your collab or whatever argument you were involved in, but rather the unprofessional way you have conducted yourself repeatedly.

Anonymous said...

Wow that's some crazy drama! Studio Demo, care to share that email with us? I'd love to know what could possibly be said in a private conversation with a store owner that you don't even work with, that would get you booted from your own totally unrelated store.

Anonymous said...

^^^
even better is her "I always win. :) Really." comment on her main FB fan page: http://www.facebook.com/TheStudioDemo ...she's just about the most childish human being I've ever run across. The funniest part is I didn't even know who she was before all the uproar here a couple of weeks ago, so she completely created her own demise.

well what the heck did Lizzy of 9th and Bloom have to do with any of this???

well, did any of you hit the "report this shop" button??? I did. easy. doesn't mean they will do anything...but its easy enough to do.

Anonymous said...

my guess is happy tits tried to get into 9&B and lizzy, who at least IMO has always been a class act, told her no. and happy tits probably went all crazy insane and started ranting and threatening (I saw that "I always win" comment on her FB page just now, too) and lizzy probably fwded it to michelle. or some variation. in my mind, the whole affair was really, really funny, with lots of obscenities being thrown around.

Anonymous said...

There's no way SD is going to share what happened in that email with Lizzy. She was obviously in the wrong. Why else would she be willing to spill all the other details except for the email with Lizzy? Obviously she knows that part of the story makes her look bad.

Anonymous said...

^agreed!!! If there was her part to the story, why didn't she just share it in her note on FB.

Anonymous said...

^^^
I think SD is stupid enough to share it anyway.

Anonymous said...

I think it's funny that SD is claiming that she's retiring because Shilo stole from her. Seriously? You are retiring because you didn't get your $6 from a collab?

No, you are retiring because you came here and proceeded to ruin your own reputation. Just like several people here told you you were doing. You claimed you didn't care about your reputation. But in the end, you found out it mattered after all. You dug your own grave.

Anonymous said...

yeah, because this blog is what every digital scrapbooker reads to determine their purchases and the reputation of a designer.

Anonymous said...

^^^
Ha! I just KNEW that happy tits was still hanging around here in the shadows, watching and reading...

Anonymous said...

________

No, but many of the designers and store owners and other people who are important in this industry DO check here regularly, even if they rarely post (like myself) but because they simply want to keep tabs on things and make sure their stores/etc. aren't in the middle of controversy. So while you THINK this blog doesn't hurt your reputation if you act like an A-class moron, it does. Store owners don't want to associate with people who have bad reputations and handle themselves poorly, because in the end it reflects on us, too, and we know it. And you're finding that out now, Alyssa, aren't you?

Oh man, this is great.
